Hurricane Harvey Recovery Fundraiser

"I am trying to raise $8,000 for Global Giving, which is an organization that is providing relief efforts to Hurricane Harvey survivors. Being situated on the west coast, I have noticed that we have become distant and unaware of the suffering that hundreds of thousands of people are facing in Texas as we have joyfully gone about our summer. Texas citizens have faced record breaking flooding and winds, that have uprooted their lives and emotionally and financially drained them and their families. This fund is helping to provide food, clean water, shelter, and hygiene products to survivors for a short term solution and is supporting locally run recovery efforts for the long term. I like to think of giving back and helping Texans while they need it most, as a "take a penny, leave a penny" situation. When they need help we provide it, and hopefully, when we need it and want it most, they will return the favor. Please join me in this mission to help survivors of a very scary natural disaster and hopefully make settling back into the life's, easiest as possible. "-Della Walker Age 14
