Hey Hounds!
The Category 4 storm currently flooding parts of Texas has caused massive amounts of damage and it is devastating to watch from all the way up here in Boston. After watching hours and hours of coverage on the news, we at the Urban Hound decided that it was time to step up.
At the Urban Hound, we are passionate animal lovers, and seeing the stories and photos of all kinds of confused, hurting animals is particularly upsetting to us.
We have reached out to several animal shelters in the Greater Houston area, and have learned that the most helpful thing that we can do is raise money. 100% of funds raised will be given to rescue groups in Texas who are working around the clock to keep displaced and abandoned animals safe as Harvey continues to ravage the state.
The 4 groups that we will be evenly dividing the funds between are Austin Pets Alive, the SPCA of Texas, San Antonio Humane Society, and Houston Humane Society. These groups will be using all funds raised to purchase supplies and food, as well as to provide shelter to animals all over Texas.
We will be collecting funds for these groups through the month of September. On September 30, we will withdrawal all donations and make a divide the money evenly. We will then be using each rescue's online donation tools to deliver these funds directly to their respective causes.
The Urban Hound appreciates any and all support you are able to give this campaign, whether monetary donations or simply sharing the fundraiser on your social pages. Together we can really help these animals who are feeling confused and scared in the wake of this terrible storm.
