In June, Amy felt a small lump in her breast. She went to the doctor for an unrelated issue and while at that visit asked the midwife to check her breast. The midwife was unable and had Amy schedule a new appointment as soon as possible. The first available appointment was three weeks later in July. After visiting the doctor he immediately referred Amy for an ultrasound/mammogram which was scheduled after her arrival home from visiting in Texas. Once home Amy had mammogram/ultrasound and doctor said she needed to have a biopsy as soon as possible. On August 23rd, Amy went in for a biopsy/ultrasound and tumor had grown and on August 25th was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer.
