Thank you for all of your love and support over the past several months. We are overwhelmed with the thoughts, prayers, and good vibes that have been sent.
Many of you have expressed interest in finding a way to help, and many of you already have. As we enter this next round of treatment -- and look towards the next several months -- we know that we will need help, but do not know exactly how.
Following his bone marrow transplant, Henry, Robin, and Jack will be confined to our home for at least 6 months in order to minimize the risk of infection and complications.
We have held off in creating a fundraising site like this, but many suggested creating their own, so we thought it best to have a single space for it. Among other things, we would plan to use the funds for: meals/groceries, educational materials during the home-bound months, toys, and current and future medical bills.
We do not have a monetary goal: our goal is for Henry to be healthy, and for our family to be whole again.
A little about Henry's journey: Henry just celebrated his first birthday in March 2017. On April 28, 2017, he was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia), a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. He is at Children's Hospital of Orange County in Irvine, California. Henry completed 3 rounds (of 5 expected rounds), but relapsed shortly after the 3rd. He is currently in the middle of another round of chemo, which will be followed by a round of radiation, and then a bone marrow transplant.
He has been an absolute trooper throughout. Robin spends nearly every day and night with him at the hospital, while David works and takes care of Jack. We are fortunate to have had such amazing support, including having had David's brother ("Uncle Matt") spend much of the summer with them.
