Zac's 6th Open Heart Surgery

Zac was born with Tetrology of Fallot. It is a congenital heart defect. Zac's defects were/are: VSD, ASD, Pulmonary Stenosis, and Transposition of the Greater Arteries. His first surgery was when he was 3 months old. His second open heart surgery he was only 13 months old. He grew and thrived until he was 12 years old. He went in for a fairly routine (as routine as heart surgery can be) to have his 3rd repair. Complications developed and he wound up having 3 open heart sugeries and developed Compartment Syndrome in his right leg as a result of being on the ECMO machine to keep him alive. He had 5 Vascular surgeries so that he would not lose his leg. He is now permanently handicapped in his right leg and has to have extensive physical therapies and braces to be able to walk.
Zac is a very active young man (15 years old). He's been in the Boy Scouts since he was 6 years old. He loves camping and hiking. Although he can no longer hike with the rest of his group.
We have just learned that Zac requires yet another heart surgery with-in the next couple weeks. We have insurance but it will not pay on any medical expenses until we meet our out of pocket expense ($12,500.00). Until this is met we basically have no insurance. We are still struggling to pay the medical bills from his previous surgery in Nov. 2010.
