One Chance for a Cure

Hi, my name is Lisa and my husband is David. David has a teminal illness that is so rare it is 'one in a million' and there is only one known cure, but more about that later.
We previously had a successful fundraiser on this GOFUNDME account for money to make modifcations to the porch so that David could get in and out of the home. We wholeheartedly THANK each and every one of YOU who generously gave. No donation was too small or too large, you are all equally beautiful people who helped us when we were at a loss. We had an anonymous gifter who matched the funds collected on GOFUNDME and the porch was built and has been a real blessing for David.
But back to Davids battle, his "one in a milion" auto immune disorder Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). The only known cure for this disease is a Stem Cell Transplant and because of the rapid pace that David's symptoms are progressing the doctors finally got the insurance company interested in seeing if David is a candidate for the Stem Cell Transplant.
I am happy to say that we are headed to Colorado on August 27th for the beginning of many tests and hopefully a year because that is reportedly the time frame the patients need for recovery. Wish us luck!
Because of the heavy burden of ordinary bills and little income coming into the home, of course over months of fighting and waiting and wating and waiting for a disablity appointment, our savings is no longer existent and we are still surviving day to day on a hope and a prayer.
We are in need of assistance for support during this leg of the journey. We are packing the car up as though we may need to sleep in it, but hey it will be an adventure even if we do! What can we offer in return? We have nothing material to give but if it means saving my husbands life I will IOU and workhard to pay you back when we get through to the other side of living healthy.
