Caroline Kicks Cancer

On August 9th 2017, my mom (Caroline Cullom) was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. It is a rare form of Cancer that has spread through her blood and is affecting her lungs, bronchial tubes and spine. It started as a pesky little cough and then transformed into excruciating back pain, which spured us into taking her to the ER on Sunday August 13th. She began radiation therapy on her spine to reduce the tumor that has almost completely eaten away at her L2 disk and which pushes and pinches her 3rd, 4th, and 5th disk and sciatic nerve. She will be continuing radiation for 10 days and then will begin chemo therapy to begin fighting the other tumors in her body. After about 3 months, they will reassess to see if the tumors are going away or not. As you can tell, she is starting a very tough battle and her battle just become even tougher. As of Monday, August 28th her insurance company has dropped her from their plan. What we thought would help us through has just abandoned us. We are all alone to pay for what is to come. Because my mother is the sole care provider for my grandmother who has dementia, and my cousin with special needs, she has her hands full and worrying about how to afford the medical bills isn't something I want to add to her plate. I know there is a lot going on in the world right now, but if you could find it in your hearts to help her in anyway possible we would greatly appreciate it. She has a long and difficult battle in front of her and we need all the support we can get.
