Leah's Medical Bills

Hey everyone. As a lot of you know Amy and I have a very hard time asking for help, especially when it comes to money. So please know that we are doing this with heavy hearts.
Back in June Leah had a fever that shot up very quickly to 104. We rushed her into Maine Medical Pediatric Emergency. The result for the fever was a urinary tract infection. They got her fever to break and prescribed her an antibiotic and sent us home.
The next morning her fever was on the rise and she wasn't keeping her meds down which sent us back to the E.R. They were able to get her fever back down and the antibiotic to stay down.
Because of this we have had to do more doctor visits and see some specialists. The results from the tests show that she has reflux on the left side; what that means is she has urine going from her bladder back up to her left kidney. This means that if she gets UTI the infection can spread to her kidney. That being said it looks like we will have some long term monitoring and treatments ahead of us.
What we did not realize at that start of all of this is that Leah's medical insurance is not all that great. The two E.R. visits are costing us $1,800 after insurance, and one of the specialists visits $600.
We are doing the best we can but are feeling *buried" by these costs. Anything that you can give we appreciate greatly.
