❤️Friends and Family - As some of you may know, my son Calvin's father Trent is currently recovering in the hospital as a result of multiple strokes and brain surgery. Sadly he's also battling additional major health issues that are contributing to the overall deterioration of his health. As you can imagine the day to day emotions have been stressful. Keeping it together has been a struggle for us all.
Trent has been hospitalized at Santa Clara Valley Medical in San Jose since August 9 and is still fighting his way to recovery. The healing process begins when he is out of the SICU and will be followed by ongoing weeks to months of physical, speech and occupational therapy.
Although he can learn how to be independent through rehab, it's uncertain how long it will take. Relearning hand eye coordination, how to stand and how to walk are going to take some time. Those of you who know him, know he loves life and his work. The goal is to help Trent be as healthy as he can be and return back to home and work as soon as possible.
Trent's going to be dependent on Calvin for daily activities when he comes home. Calvin has taken on Trent's affairs and will continue to take time off of work until help (therapy & financially) can be provided. State Disability will provide some financial help but not nearly enough to pay all the living expenses and will take a few weeks possibly months to kick in.
