PhotogenX DTS, Kona HI

I recently graduated from Baylor University with a major in International Studies and a minor in Spanish. I was able to take some photography classes at university and absolutely loved it. In April of 2014 I will be heading to Kona, Hawaii to do a discipleship training school with Youth With a Mission. It will include a three-month lecture phase and a three-month implicational outreach phase. Ever since I can remember I've wanted to do aDTS. Not just because my entire family has done one, and not just because you have to do one prior to becoming full time staff with Youth With A Mission. God spoke to me a few years ago about not only doing a DTS after college, but also doing a specific one called PhotogenX. He has been developing in me from the time I was younger an intense passion for photography. I find such joy in being able to tell stories, and to show God's hand in all the little details of creation with my photography. I also have a passion for journeying into the world, for seeking out the beauty of God's creation- in the mountains and rivers, in a child's precious face, or in the simple act of just getting to know someone of a different culture. The PhotogenX DTS allows me to combine these two passions, to travel into the world seeking to share the good news with people who desperately need to hear it and to tell the story of the forgotten, the oppressed, and the widow so that with a raised awareness and a movement of God chains may be broken and the captive set free.


Beginning in April I will be on an educational and outreach journey. The over all cost will be $8995. This cost will cover room and board and flights for the outreach during my DTS. I just completed university and I have been working to save money for this school. I would love to have any financial support, encouragement and prayer as I go on this journey. My goal is to enter a full time ministry vocation, after the school, whether at a YWAM base or within another non-profit.
