Scarlett's Recovery Fund

Scarlett is the spunky, fun and loving youngest daughter of our Coworker and friend Kim. Scarlett loves cheering, gymnastics, and helping her mom out at work. On Tuesday, August 8th, Scarlett had a brain aneurysm. Below is beginning of Scarlett's story as told by her mother: "Apparently Scarlett was born with Arteriovenous Malformation. Which is very rare, and something that we never would have known she had. It is basically a malformed vein in her head. And on Tuesday night it burst. She complained of a very bad headache, then she began vomiting, and then was very lethargic, and became unresponsive. That's when I called the ambulance. (very big thank you to the 1st responder - the Lakeville Policeman (who I will be working to get his name), and the EMTs who did everything right to get us to St. Lukes ASAP. The ER team responded swiftly to get a helicopter to med-flight us to Children's hospital here in Boston. A team of what seemed like 20 people brought her into a CT scan and then immediately into the OR. They put a drain in her head to relieve the pressure and remove fluid." Scarlett has been in the ICU for a week now and the doctors are beginning to wake her up from a medically induced coma. They said this process could take up to a week to wake her, and they presume Scarlett will need to stay in the ICU until after labor day. As Kim's friends and coworkers, we wanted to start this go fund me account as a way to show our support and help ease the burden of the medical expenses for Scarlett's stay in the ICU.
