Hurricane Irma might be over, but the devastation to Florida is not. The reporters and camera crews may be gone, but the issues after the storm remain at large. Hundreds of families still remain without power, transportation, and even their homes. A few reasons why I started this page is because after hurricane irma hit I was scheduled to go to Chicago for work the following weekend for our next race, but I decided to take the weekend off to drive down from NC to Merritt island and help my family get back on their feet after the storm. Once everything was squared away I put myself right in the middle of where Irma made her second landfall in Marco Island and the Naples area, I made the four hour drive down to South West Florida and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Families without homes anymore cars, trucks, campers flipped over on their sides, major structural damage to almost every house in some neighborhoods. I put myself in that situation because I couldn't just sit back and watch these people struggle so I decided to help out down in the trenches with the people who needed it most. I bought water and coolers filled with ice and brought them to the hardest hit neighborhoods, as well as gas for their generators. I did all I could to help in the shot amount time that I had. After I got back to North Carolina and life resumed for me I realized that I just couldn't stop there, which is when I thought of starting a GoFundMe.  I have multiple goals in starting this page. One, is to help my family who still lives in Merritt Island, Florida. My initial goal is to reach $15,000 to fix the damages on my families house, and secondly, everything after the initial $15K I will donate to the Collier Comes Together Disaster Relief Fun which is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
