Brian’s journey for a heart transplant & recovery

Hi, my name is Brian and I need your help in raising funds for medical expenses. I wasn’t going to start this up because I am one who believes that your burden is yours and yours alone and to give it to God, but I have exhausted all means in this with no luck to seeing an ending or the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. In 2020 I had a massive heart attack that pretty much left me in desperate need for a new heart. I spent all of 2020 and most of 2021 in and out of the hospital fighting to stay alive for my son to have a father. I am asking for this help not only for myself but for my son so he can have his father around a little longer. A little about myself I served this Great nation in the United States Army (Active and Reserve) and the United States Navy ( Active) for 15 years before being medically retired from active service. I deployed several times overseas while on active duty and after I left the military, I continued serving my community as a Law Enforcement Officer for 15 years as well. Later in my life I started a family and had a son born in 2011 and my son is my HERO. He is, besides the GOOD Lord the reason why I am still here. The good lord thought it was not my time and that my son would need me in the future. The day of my heart attack my 9 year old son knew something was wrong and called 911 and saved my life and to this very day it still haunts him thinking his father is going to die. I can no longer do the things that a father does with his kids and my son is the one who is missing out on his childhood with his father. Seeing the look on his face when I can’t go throw a football or play catch or even teach him to ride a bicycle is making me feel like a failure to him and it shows on his face. I am asking for your help because I have no one to turn to for the caregiver support that I need that would help me with my daily activities so I will have to hire a private nurse for my 24/7 daily care until I can fend for myself. I have tried to get the help I need via the Veteran’s Administration, Medicaid, and Medicare, but they do not have programs for that type of care but only part time care and that with these programs family has to help out. The problem is I have an elderly father and a 11 year old son to rely on and they can’t. Private Nurse care is really expensive and without this help I can not get my heart transplant. This is a long and hard road to be on with the entire process and doing it by yourself with no help from family and friends is making it harder.  All I am asking is for help and if you can please do and if not please just say a quick prayer for my son and I and I will be so greatful for that.
