Medical Mission Trip To Haiti

Hey Everyone! I am very excited to announce that I will be attending this year's Medical Mission Trip to Haiti via Phoenix Rising for Haiti, to provide free healthcare to the residents of Port-de-Paix. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere and has experienced several natural disasters (most recent was Hurricane Matthew in October 2016), which have further devastated an already poverty-striken population. The majority of individuals in this country do not have access to basic and necessary medical care. This year's trip will be from October 14-21. Our team will consist of 15-25 medical professionals (medical doctors, prosthetists, and physical therapists) who will work together to treat whoever walks through the doors of our clinic, whether its an elderly individual with low back pain or a child with an amputated limb. Phoenix Rising for Haiti has successfully completed 17 trips, treating over 8,000 individuals with various orthopedic and neurological conditions. I am beyond thrilled to grow professionally through this experience and, more importantly, make a difference in the lives of Haitian people through utilizing my skills as a physical therapist. The funds raised will strictly go towards the costs of this trip (airfare, medical equipment and supplies, shoes, food, water, etc.) in order to deliver the highest quality of care possible to this underserved region. As a Haitian American woman, this opportunity hits very close to home. Your generosity in funding this trip is not something I take lightly.
