Help Helena Live With Dementia

Helena's strong Christian faith keeps her steadfast on her journey with advanced-stage Vascular Dementia. Last year she was mobile and independent. This year she is immobile, wheelchair bound and totally dependent. In recent years, she opened her door to a handyman who assaulted her so she is also dealing with that trama as well as the Dementia. Being cared for at home by family is allowing her to thrive on love, continue to overcome the nightmares, learn to trust and feel safe and secure again. Her condition dictates that she cannot be left alone and requires 24 hour care so when her family is working to provide a roof over her head, caregivers provide much needed care by assisting with dressing and bathing and feeding her. Until her diagnosis of dementia two years ago, she spent most of her life serving as chaplain and delegate for a charity, was a member of numerous community service organizations , served countless hours helping to feed the homeless, volunteering at food pantries, clothing the poor and being charitable to those she came in contact with. Her family would like to make her final years full of quality one on one care and peaceful surroundings by giving back to her by taking care of her at home instead of letting her become one of many numbers in a facility. She's been a wonderful saint of the Lord and we pray that you would give whatever the Lord lays on your heart to help her to continue to be cared for the way she cared for so many her whole life.
