NICOLE'S FIGHT! #BeatGP

Hello everyone I am writing this on behalf of Scott and I. On February 10th, Nicole was diagnosed with Stage 4 (Severe) Gastroparesis. We learned that this means that Nicole's stomach is paralyzed and along with that she suffers from chronic pain, nausea and vomiting. The past several months have been devastating watching our daughter battle this disease. Her health is very compromised, she is now very malnourished and weak. With a recent procedure at Kent Hospital we learned her esophagus is eroding and her muscles have weakened to the point that they no longer contract between her esophagus and stomach. Nicole has tried all other treatment options such as medications and diet changes. She has been unable to keep food down as she throws up everything. Unfortunately those treatment options have failed. Our daughter has no other medical options left besides undergoing gastric bypass surgery. Her stomach will never work again but with this surgery the food will get to her intestines and she will absorb nutrients again. Her insurance company has denied the surgery twice due to her not meeting the requirements for gastric bypass surgery, such as her BMI not being above 40. Our family and her team of doctors continue to fight and pray for Nicole. Without this surgery Nicole is considered terminal. Scott and I can't imagine losing another daughter. We appreciate all of your support, love and prayers during this hard time for our daughter. Our goal is to raise money so Nicole can have the surgery to save her life and help with all the numerous medical bills that have been piling up from all the ER visits, hospital admissions and procedures she has endured.
