Help For Otie Baby

Donation protected
Hi friends, family and animal lovers. Earlier this week my beautiful, sweet rescue boy Otis was badly attacked by another dog and needed to be hospitalized. It was incredibly scary as he almost didn't make it and I was bit in the process as well.

He is still currently in the animal hospital and his bill continues to climb by the day. Luckily he has great care at the Toronto Beaches Animal Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. He is in surgery as I write this to remove the necrotic tissue and air pockets from the large puncture wounds on his body and throat. If all goes well he will hopefully be able to come home early next week. Otis also has emphysema due to air getting trapped under his skin from the many deep bite wounds around his airways. They treated him for this and shock and in the mean time he is on sedative pain meds, IV fluids and antibiotics.

Otis is such a sweet boy and so adored by many. It breaks my heart that this happened to him after all the struggles he's been through in his short 7 years. He was originally rescued from a puppy mill in Quebec and was incredibly sick. His amazing adopters spent years getting him healthy again and trying to overcome his trust issues with people. I adopted him from them roughly two years ago and he has made so many people and dog friends in that time.

He has a Boston bestie/sister name Wednesday who is so lost without him. They adore each other and he has done so much to help her confidence and anxiety - she was rescued from a terrible abuse situation as well.

I hate to be in this position to ask for help but as a single dog mom with a severe chronic illness I unfortunately do not have the means to cover this bill on my own. I am hoping and waiting on the other dogs owner to step up and offer payment as they are legally responsible to but it's not looking great and I do not have time to wait around for that. Because this is most likely going to become a legal liability issue I am hoping to get the bills covered by them eventually and when and if that happens I will donate the entire amount back to Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary. They do phenomenal work for animals and I can't think of a more deserving organization.

Otis' original bill estimate was around $2000 but that did not include the extra days of hospitalization. I'm expecting it to climb over $3000 and if anything is left over I will donate it as mentioned above.I understand that times are tough for a lot of us right now and if you aren't able to donate I completely understand and appreciate all the love and support. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and sending Otis and I your well wishes.Love Angelica, Otis and Wednesday xx
