Help Us Get Married!

We (Tyler and Colleen) met through E-Harmony.  So, yes, we're one of "those couples who met online." After a couple of weeks of emailing back and forth we went out on our first date February 15, 2014, because let's be honest, Valentine's Day is too much pressure for the first date. 

The connection was instantaneous and there has been very little time over the last year and a half that we have been apart.  It became apparent fairly early on that our relationship was headed for something more serious than just dating.  So in January of this year, Colleen and I were engaged.  Now the planning is underway to hold our wedding on April 23, 2016 in Sewanee, Tennessee on the grounds of The University of the South.  

This is where you come in...you dear, dear soul.  Tyler has been in seminary for the last 2 years and isn't exactly raking in the dough.  Colleen works as a lecturer at The University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, but isn't making enough to be able to pay the bills and pay for the wedding at the same time (student loans are for real, y'all!).  

So, we are asking people to "give money instead of gifts" for our wedding.  Colleen and I both have independent households that we have set up, and have no need for toasters, blenders, towels, linens, etc.  What we do have a need of is money to help pay for the wedding.  

No amount is too little and no amount is too large.  We are seeking $2,000 to help offset the cost of the wedding as much as possible.  If we manage to raise more than our goal, that's great too and will go towards us getting ready to move back to Alabama sometime in May of 2016.
