Erika Wager's Go Fund Me

Hello everyone, my name is Cayla Clement. My older sister, Erika Wager needs our help in her recovery process from a spinal fracture.

On Friday, August 4th Erika had a tragic accident while training a race horse. After being rushed to the emergency room she underwent surgery to stabilize her spine.

She fractured and dislocated T9 of her thoracic spinal column which caused severe damage to the nerves in her spinal cord. She also sustained a rib fracture which caused internal swelling and led to another surgery to stabilize the abdomen. The doctor's prognosis was that she would likely be paralyzed from the waist down. This will inevitably be a long recovery for Erika and our family as she adjusts to a new way of life. We are certain that with continuing support from her family and friends, coupled with her own remarkable will and determination, she can overcome this obstacle.

Her passion in life has always been with horses and she's always loved being able to turn her passion into a career as she is a firm believer that if you truly love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. She's been so lucky to have the opportunity to be involved with so many different aspects of the equine industry over the years but her favorite of those is the race horse industry.
