Candice's Recovery & Care

Hi everybody, my name is Emma and I'm Candice's younger sister. Within the last week, Candice suffered a ruptured aneurism and had to have surgery to stop the bleeding into her brain. Now she is in a 2 week recovery in the CCU, and at the end of those 2 weeks she has to have another surgery to fix a diseased portion of an artery they discovered during her first surgery. As of right now, she is doing incredibly well and we're all very positive. Yet she still has a very long way to go. After being released from the hospital she will have a 2 month recovery period. Candice is a nurse in the Neonatal ICU at the University of Washington Medical Center. Her job is to take care of very sick babies. She is the most kind-hearted, down to earth person I know. She's my best friend and without her the world would stop turning. She and her husband, Hugo, have been married for 2 years and are trying to start a family. Just last week they were talking about baby names until the unexpected happened. We are just asking for your help, seeing as her job does not give disability time. Her husband does not receive disability either and he is taking a very long amount of time off work to be with her. There's a long road ahead of us, it won't be easy but Candice is one of the strongest people I know, and we know she will pull through. Candice, as well as her husband, are the two most deserving people, seeing as they do anything they can to help others, and now it's time to help them.
