Support For Alan's Brain Surgery

Yes I did say Brain Surgery. A few months ago I received a diagnosis of having a chiari 1 malformation, which a very rare disorder. For people who know me, I have always had headaches, migraines, strange back pain and etc. I've seen multiple neurosurgeons and other doctors these last few months and as of 2 days ago we decided I require the surgery for a few reasons which include; I have a syrinx which is pushing on my spinal cord, numbness/ tingling , horrible head pains which are known as pressure headaches in the chiari world, dizziness, tripping and falling, some word finding/memory difficulty at times and chronic fatigue to name some. There is no cure and this is to try and restore my cerebral spinal fluid flow close to normal and reduce the syrinx. Surgery has been moved to December 1 now as I had to have my bicep tendon repaired on Sept 25. They now believe I may also have a connective tissue disorder. I am the primary source of my family's income (75% of it) and we have estimated surgery costs after insurance and additional testing is around 10,000 dollars and I'll be out of work for 6 weeks minimal. I'm asking for whatever help people can afford to our family and after all bills are covered I will be doing a donation if there is the excess after. My surgery is called a laminectomy where they remove part of my C1 vertebrae, remove permanently a golf ball size piece of skull, resect my cerebellum tonsils at base of brain, and open and patch my dura of the brain. My recovery: 1 day icu, 2 days hospital and 6 weeks of not lifting over 5 lbs. Possible physical therapy afterwards for my neck.I'll be honest I'm scared and trying to keep my mind off the surgery date and please keep me and my family in your prayers as this is a major surgery and there is obvious chances things can go bad or complications after surgery.
