Abel was diagnosed with rheumatic fever when he was 3 1/2. Rheumatic fever is an inflammatory infectious disease caused by streptococcus bacteria. Rheumatic fever can cause permanent damage to the heart, causing damaged heart valves and sometimes heart failure. We are being sent to Cook's Children's hospital in Fort Worth. Abel is currently seeing an infectious disease doctor, and cardiologist for this issue. At only 4 years old he has had blood tests, echocardiograms, and been on countless long term antibiotics. He is such a fighter and so strong. He endures the pain of every injection he receives, has stayed up countless nights because of this pain and has always kept a smile on his face. I only hope for him to receive the treatment he needs and for healing as we go, and with the strength that God has given both of us I know with time it will come. We are thankful to be able to go to Cooks Children's. Please share and send prayers!
