My name is Jennifer Wilson I'm 33. I'm a single mother and I just had surgery to remove cancer from my neck, I have 2 children Rodney 3rd, age13 (who resides in WV with his father) ,Serenity age 11 and my pittie Buddy Love age 3 who lives with me. Ive had a rough life due to poor choices. For the past 6 years, I put myself though CNA school as well as done 2 years of online classes to pursue a career in Medicine. Ive worked at the same job since '13, while attending online classes, working 32-40 hrs/week. In 2016 I was in and out the hospital with no outcome except I have ANXIETY. Finally in May '17 I had a thyroid Ultrasound and biopsy done due to several health issues I was having . 2 weeks after I was told it shows cancerous cells called follicular cancer in 2 solid nodules on my right side of my thyroid. I was told I need to have a full thyroidectomy and was it was scheduled on July 19. I continued to work with a smile and still being a single mother.
I received the surgery and was discharged the following evening, I'm slowly healing. However my levels are not in the normal range ( calcium and parathyroid levels)which my doctor wont release me back to work and I have several weeks until my next appointment. My job doesn't provide medical leave or PTO and I have monthly bills to pay and continuous doctors appointment I seriously need help with.
