Thank you for visiting our page
Funded by charitable donations, Treak Community Centre in Siem Reap, Cambodia provides free education to over 300 children and young people every day. The parents and families of Treak’s students faced the challenges of going to school during and after the Khmer Rouge period. They and Treak’s teachers share the generally held belief within Cambodian society that education has been, and continues to be, an important factor in Cambodia's peace and stability following the horrors of the recent past.

Treak Community Centre is making a difference.
They run a thriving pre-school nursery, provide English classes and a wide range of other subjects that are not taught in primary schools such as science, arts & crafts, geography, health and nutrition, and personal development. These topics contribute to the students’ overall development, and also help them to get decent jobs in the tourism industry centred on Siem Reap and the Angkor Wat temple complex.
Treak’s classrooms are well built and they have a well-stocked and well used library. Treak also assist through their Community Support Programme that provides training, jobs, and income for parents and other villagers to help people take control of their own futures. Treak’s overarching philosophy is to create opportunities not dependency.
In the past few years, during and after Covid, donations helped the school to continue. They are now looking to the future and need support to invest in new kitchen/dining facilities and to improve the very basic toilet and washing arrangements.
In addition to improving the students’ facilities the plan is to use the new kitchen to raise funds through cooking demonstrations, attracting visitors to the school and community. The visitors will also be able to buy products that are crafted on site through the sewing workshop and training centre.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO HELP THE SCHOOL
All donations, whether one off or regular, are much appreciated and help safeguard the future of the school, enabling Treak Community Centre to continue its work to educate vulnerable children and support the parents and wider community in Treak village.
