Baby Ben, Help The Brown Family.

"Our nightmare came to life when I went into the hospital having contractions at 25weeks and they told me I was in preterm labour. Ben ended up being delivered 3 1/2 months early. He was born 2 lbs 3ounces. Since he was born so premature he ended up with a stage 4 brain bleed on his left side and a stage three bleed on the right. With the sever bleeding, it caused a lot of damage and they aren't sure how much good brain tissue is left. We won't find out what it will affect until he gets older but they said there is a good chance he will have problems with mobility. The doctors said possibility of him being In a wheelchair but we are praying that doesn't happen. The blood was putting too much pressure on his brain and so he had to go for surgery to relieve some of the pressure. They put a reservoir in to be able to take some of the blood out everyday. And when he gets a bit bigger he will have to go for another surgery to get a shunt put in which will constantly drain it. He will also have to go for another surgery before he comes home to get his in Inguinal hernia removed. So it will be quite a while before he gets to come home. It really depends on Ben and how quickly his brain can heal before we even get transferred back to Kingston. But it looks like Toronto is going to be our new home for a while. At least for 3 months or more. We are trying our best to stay strong for our little boy! It's going to be a long road for us but we are taking it one day at a time."

Ben just turned 1 month old, Chris & Jessica have a long road ahead of them. That will definitely cost them in many ways. I'm hoping people will come together and help this amazing family out, so they can be there for Ben and not have to be worried and stressed about finances. They're going to be in Toronto, away from their dogs, family and home for at least 3 months, so every little bit will help them. We dont really have a "Goal" because we know everything helps, we dont know what the future may hold for this family, and any extra help with be greatly appreciated.
