Please be grateful for your hearing. Everyday.
Enjoy those who are talking around you. Enjoy the music you can hear loud and clear. Don’t take it for granted.
Today was SO incredibly hard. I have not been without my hearing aid for a very long time. Now, I’m forced to be without for a little while. I was an emotional wreck today. Not feeling like myself.
Another thing. A big middle finger to insurance companies who don’t cover hearing health as part of their plans. For someone who relies on hearing aids to live their daily life, it simply isn’t fair. How is this any different than glasses? Contacts? Prosthetics?
*EDIT* — employees & spouses of Florida Blue have a reimbursement program; however, what about for the others? Or those who need two? Those who were born with hearing impairments, those small devices have so much power; thus, why they are so expensive.
I rely on two hearing aids every day. Being without them is not an option.
For those who don’t know — they are $2,500 a piece.
Be kind to your ears. Hug them.
