Life Has Changed With MS

Picture a new home with blank walls and another chapter in this artist's life. The opening weekend of May was all about moving. I was helped by loving family and friends. Unfortunately, the weekend closed with a terrible case of blurry vision. Exhausted, I blamed it on poor eating and hydration during a weekend of moving. Determined to meet some deadlines, I went to work. My vision went from bad to worse. After a half-day at work and an urgent care visit, it was suggested in "may be vertigo." I went home to rest. The blurry vision turned to extreme double vision. I stayed home from work. While struggling to walk down a short hallway, I felt not in control of my eyes. It was more than double vision. I recorded my eyes. With one eye closed, I reviewed the recording... complete opposite directions... I began to panic. Overwhelmed with fear, I called for help. As a designer, "watching" my eyes not work scared me to my core. Many doctor appointments later- much compromised sight and beyond- and an MS diagnosis has created a new way of living in my new home. It has also meant much time away from work, an exhaustion of savings and many new and unexpected medical costs.
