Help Scott fight Cancer

Hi, I'm Scott Rogers, a game designer, author and father.

In 2013, I survived Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. In July 2023, I was diagnosed with a re-occurrence of Stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I have been undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy for the past four months but I am now gearing up for my greatest challenge yet.

My doctors at the City of Hope have decided that I am a great candidate for a bone marrow transplant- a long and painful procedure that lasts over a month and takes at least three months to recover from. This means I will be spending a month away from home “near” the hospital under observation and in case of any bad side effects.

Keep in mind, this is a dangerous procedure - all of my bone marrow will be blasted with the “highest possible chemotherapy that my body can take” and there is a chance of death but it’s very low and if it works I will be 100% cancer free. But I’m in for a “week of hell” first.

Naturally, I am nervous about this and I will be on disability for during time - about three to four months. Because this will keep me on disability longer than I thought, (we've already been on disability for the past four months) and because we've had to switch health insurance in the middle of all of this, we will need help with our mounting medical and household costs. We have insurance for now, but things are getting tight. Any help helps.

Between changing insurance providers (new deductibles) and the possibility of me having to live in a clean-environment (cleaner than my house with a cat and dog) for three months during my recovery/isolation period, we realized that our initial goal wouldn't be enough to cover all of our anticipated costs.
