Part Of The Story

Hello dear friends and brilliant people! I am really thrilled to be heading to London at the end of the summer to do an MFA in Theatre Directing at Birkbeck. It’s some of the best directing training around, and they accept a maximum of 10 students a year. I believe with all my heart that the world needs stories, and I’m doing this course so that I can make the best ones possible. I want to be in a position to tell the stories that need to be told, and facilitate others to share their own stories, with skill and longevity. Over the past 6 years (since graduating) I’ve worked incredibly hard within the arts, and to develop as an artist. I’ve invested a great deal in community and charity projects, and supporting others whenever I can. I’ve given all I’ve got, and kept going through sometimes very challenging circumstances, to reach this point. Now, I believe doing this training, to both bring together and expand my experience, is what I need to be in a position to make brilliant theatre and give voice to people's stories for the rest of my life. Its a massive privilege to get to do this, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to grow and learn as a director. I’m currently working every hour I can to raise the funds I’ll need, I’m applying for a postgraduate loan, and will be working alongside doing the course as well. However, the financial investment to be able do this is still a massive ask, and so here I’m asking for your help, if you’d like to. In return, I’d love to share with you any skills I can offer, I will be profoundly grateful as only an INJF can, and I also take very seriously my responsibility to create theatre and space for stories that matter and make change, which you’d be part of making possible.
