Jannie Taylor Needs Our Love

Hi friends... We have come to GoFundMe seeking help for a very bright light in the New Braunfels Music Community. Many of you have watched as Lucas Taylor has matured and grown from a scrappy teenager into a great musician. And, if you know Lucas, it's a good bet that you know his sweet mama, Jannie. She's the one who is always there to cheer him on in the crowd! The one who always has a kind word and a hug for everyone!

At the end of May, Jannie was admitted to Resolute Hospital with severe abdominal pain. It was quickly recognized that Jannie was experiencing acute appendicitis, and she was prepped for surgery. Upon completion of her procedure, her appendix was sent to pathology.

The results were quite unexpected and frightening...showing that Jannie had a moderately high grade/stage 2 adenocarcinoma, with lymphovascular invasion present. Because the surgeon did not know it at the time, no further samples were taken, so there is no way of knowing at this time whether or not it has metastasized. Her surgeon wanted to do more invasive surgery immediately, but it is the opinion of a longtime local specialist in this field that a second opinion and more tests are needed first.

Jannie has no insurance. She lost her wonderful husband (and Lucas's dad) Richard, three years ago. She could really use some help, both financially and emotionally, to get her through this difficult time.

First and foremost is the second opinion, and any additional testing that is necessary. Second, is the $20,000. + still owed to Resolute, even after a substantial discount. She is still trying to figure out the best course of action, but no matter which one she chooses, it will set her back. A lot.
