USATF National Meet 2017

My name is Dani Taylor. I am entering my junior year at Eastmont High school and I am a member of the 2017 Spokane Speed Academy Track Team. This is the third year of our program, but it is my first year competing. I am one of only three athletes competing from the Wenatchee Valley. Many of our athletes will have an opportunity to compete at the USATF Jr. Olympics National Championships. The USATF Jr. Olympics National Championships will be held in Lawrence, Kansas. My goal is to raise enough money to cover travel expenses to this prestigious event. The total cost to travel to this event is around $800 dollars per athlete, so I will need all the assistance I can get to reach my goal. The $800 will cover all transportation and related expenses at Nationals. Spokane Speed Academy (SSA) is a Non-Profit Youth Sports Organization and is a member of USATF (United States of America Track and Field) Our tax exempt 501c (3) number is 603-507-423.  The vision of Spokane Speed Academy is to cultivate and support the youth of Eastern Washington who have the desire to compete in Track and Field. SSA will educate both the athletes and parents on scholarship opportunities in Track and Field for those student athletes seeking higher education. SSA will assist athletes and families with the NCAA Clearing House process, contact college coaches on behalf of athletes, and is driving force around academics. Their vision is bigger than sports. It’s about learning leadership skills, forging lasting friendships, and team building skills that will last us beyond high school and college athletics. The best part is, no one gets left behind! All the participants are dedicated students as well as athletes. Many of these students train year-round in hopes of, competing at the USATF Jr. Olympics National Championships and securing a college scholarship. This year, I will be competing in the 4x1 relay, the 400m dash, and the 4x4 relay.
