Hear the voice of a young man from Abaco, as he describes what happened during and after Hurricane Dorian. Hear about life in a shelter in the Bahamas. Their food and personal needs need our attention. They have lost everything and have no idea what the future holds for them. Can we count on you to help?

Nothing has changed in the shelters since day one. Grits in the morning with water. Only on some days is lunch served. Otherwise, there is nothing to eat all day.
How can the Bahamian Government take
In these people and not take proper care of them?? No milk ever. Babies, nursing mothers. No nourishing meals. This is brutal. They are 80 miles from the coast of Florida, we can’t allow this.
I personally called the Prime Ministers office, the Red Cross, FEMA, all had the same response “it is not our responsibility”. These people are human beings who lost their homes, their loved ones......and now their dignity. They have no idea what the future will bring. Will they be shipped back to Abaco? Is NASSAU providing homes for them? Is 500 people in a tent with no air conditioning fair in the 21st century? Can it be that with hundreds of people living in the shelter, there are bathrooms that are blocked with “caution tape” because three out four toilets are not in working order?
By donating to Pastor Evans church, you will know your money is going directly towards the basic necessities of these people. The church will be providing milk daily, nutritious meals, under garments and whatever else we can. If we are able we will send plumbers to fix the bathrooms. We the people will help our brethren, but we need your help.
We have started with one overcrowded shelter in central NASSAU. We have hired a chef who delivers fresh food as often as possible. We hope to start with the next shelter very soon.
Our Resources are extremely limited. We are in dire need of funds to help these families.
Why the organizations who are collecting millions of dollars are not providing adequate care, we do not know. We must help. Please don’t turn your back on those who need us most, with no-one else to turn to.
