Angela's Breast Cancer Journey
Donation protected
I am a mother of two wonderful boys and am married to a great guy. My journey began back in September 2016 when I had a large breast cyst that I had drained. I was advised it would come back because it was so large. Around December/January I started to feel it again but wasn't too concerned. In April i noticed it was getting larger and a little painful. So in May I contacted the doctor who sent me to a surgeon to have it drained again. No luck so he sent me to have it aspirated by ultrasound. At that appointment they determined it was not a cyst and the it needed to be biopsied. On June 14 I was diagnosed with triple negative, stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma with lymph node interaction. This is an aggressive breast cancer that my medical team is treating just as aggressively. However just since I started the journey in May, even with insurance, I already have almost $3000 in out of pocket expenses and that doesn't even cover my first chemo treatment I had this week.My medial treatment plan is one chemo treatment every 2 weeks for 8 weeks and then one chemo treatment a week for 12 weeks. After that we will evaluate surgery options and possible radiation treatments depending on the surgery decisions. I'm still working but right now somewhat limited until I figure out what my body can handle. I will be updating my journey so those can see what I'm experiencing and know how I am doing. If you are able to help, we would surely appreciate it, as this is going to be a long, costly journey. And if you are not able to help financially, please keep our family in your prayers as we go through the journey together.
