Standing with Jenny

Three days ago my cousin, my friend's life was changed forever. Driving down highway 54, heading home for round two of the birthday celebration she planned and prepared for her oldest of three, she was in an accident. Sparing her daughter and her friends from injury, Jenny was the only one hurt. She now faces the reality of paralysis, no doubt a reality difficult to accept. As a mother of three, ages 9, 4, and 2, and a wife, this is a terrifying reality. You start to wonder how you can possibly step back into those roles where you left off three days ago. The daunting truth of what you can no longer do blinds you from what's most important - that you're still here - that every day you can still feel their embrace, see the smiles on their faces, and hear their "I love yous". If anyone can take on this challenge, it's Jenny. She awes me with her strength, faith, compassion and determination. But this challenge will not be easy. She needs all her family and friends to stand with her as she makes the necessary changes in her life, the life of her family, and her home.
