Honoring Lisa Garcia: Support for Family Expenses

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out to share my family’s story and ask for support during this incredibly difficult time as we grieve the loss of my beloved mother, Lisa Garcia. For those of you who may not have known her, my mother was an incredibly strong and resilient woman who faced a lifetime of challenges due to her health.

From a young age, she suffered from congestive heart failure. Years ago, during a valve replacement surgery, a mistake by the surgeon worsened her condition, leaving her to face even more obstacles. Despite her struggles, which included homelessness and legal battles, she never gave up. Recently, she began the process for a heart transplant—a long and arduous journey that required a two-month stay in San Francisco while she awaited a donor match.

At the end of November, we received the long-awaited call that a heart was available. While the transplant gave us hope, the surgery was fraught with unforeseen complications. She fought valiantly for two weeks in a comatose state, battling multi-organ failure. Tragically, she passed away on December 9th. Her passing was an unimaginable shock to our family.

During those weeks of uncertainty and grief, my family endured significant financial hardships. We faced lost wages, lost jobs, medical expenses and now the costs of her cremation and funeral services. As we navigate this painful time, we are humbly asking for your support to help us cover these expenses and ease the financial burden.
