My name is Emily Onipede, I’m the oldest daughter of Michael Helmrich. I’m fundraising to help my parents pay off debt accrued since COVID that is now causing our family business, The Mandarin Restaurant to close its doors permanently after 40 years of serving the Arden arcade community. Due to the rising prices in the economy and business slowing down tremendously, he is forced to close. As many people know when owning a business, debt piles up and some people even lose their houses. My grandparents established The Mandarin in January of 1984 and has been a staple in the community ever since. As many people know, Steve Helmrich, my grandfather passed away 2021 and Kay Helmrich, my grandmother just passed away this last Christmas.
