Learning How To Deal: The Podcast

Donativo protegido

Hey guys. So, this is hard for me to do. I hate asking friends for anything, especially money. However, I feel that this is a cause from which many people can benefit. Quick backstory: I was supposed to move to Miami this past week to start a new life with my girlfriend. She went down early to find us new digs and start her job. Once down there, she decided that we wouldn't work out, and broke things off. I am still in Richmond, having given up my house, job, and most of my possessions in the interim. The last two weeks have been an awful mess. Trying to pick up my life and trying to cope with losing the love of my life has been impossible. If you've had to deal with me, you know this and I'm sorry. So, this project is me hitting the hard reset button. I want to hit the road and cope, as I normally do, through friends and family. I want to hear their stories of heartbreak, loss, and redemption. I don't want to focus on the negative, but learn how they got to the positive. I want to grow from this journey. I figured that I could turn this journey into something shareable. That's why I, with a couple of other talented folks, are putting together "Learning How to Deal", a limited run podcast series. I want to catalogue my travels and conversations with friends, family, and even strangers, as I learn how to heal. This podcast will not be a witch-hunt on those who have broken our hearts. Nor will it be focused on only my story. I want to reach out and hear how others deal. I want to talk to outsiders. Bartenders, psychologists, grief counselors, etc. I want to hear stories from which I can learn. The money I'm asking for will be used for equipment, travel, production, and marketing. I'm not asking you to finance my life. I plan on hitting the road in early July and wrapping up travel and principal recording by early August. My itinerary includes the following cities: Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Muncie, Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, Austin, and Atlanta. I am currently working on the scheduling, framework, and scripting. Along with your financial assistance, if you know anyone in these cities, with a story of heartbreak and recovery, please let me know. The more I can learn, the better. Thank you in advance for any help. Even if the final product is only shared with you, my friends and family, this will be worth it to me.
