HELP RYAN & MCKENNA HAVE A BABY

Donation protected
Organized by Sarah Gioso and Abbey Traylor on behalf of Ryan & McKenna Nash

Our dear friends, McKenna and Ryan Nash, are facing a heart-wrenching battle with infertility. In their journey to conception, disappointment has become the new norm but we are here to encourage them not to lose hope. We are kindly asking you all to take the time to read the story of an incredible couple and join us in supporting them.

Despite being dealt some pretty tough cards over the past few years, we have witnessed McKenna and Ryan live their vows and overcome consistent hardships with grace. They have now been dealt their toughest card yet…

The severity of their infertility case has left the doctors with an extremely expensive treatment plan—and a plan that must happen immediately in order for their dream of having a biological child of their own to be a possibility.

Sarah and I have both known them for over a decade and whole-heartedly believe that they will make the most amazing parents. And we know anyone who knows them would agree. This couple gives their time, love and care unreservedly to the people in their life. It has been devastating to watch them walk this journey knowing how much good they consistently put into the world. If you know anyone who has battled infertility, you understand it is the strongest pain knowing there really isn’t much you can do other than be there for them. When they shared the next step in this journey with us, and the unimaginable stress of how they would be able to financially move forward with this treatment, we knew there had to be a way to help.

We need to raise $84,000, and fast. Sounds impossible, but we happen to believe in miracles and we also believe that the good these two have put out in the world will come full circle when they need it the most.

The Nash's were extremely hesitant to agree to a GoFundMe, but the treatment McKenna needs is much more intensive than the average IVF treatment. Her medication for one month alone is almost $10k. With time not being on their side, they don’t have the option to fundraise and save for months prior to beginning treatments; it’s a matter of doing it NOW.

We don't want to share their story for them, so we asked them to, below. The decision to start this journey and to share it publicly takes a huge amount of courage. We are proud of their bravery, resilience and strength.

To know these two is to love them.
Let's join together and love them the way they love and support all of us! Every donation helps! ️

McKenna & Ryan’s story in their own words:

Being married for three years now, we often get asked when we will be starting a family of our own—and we want that more than anything in the world. Having to smile and simply say, “soon,” while dealing with the physical and emotional pain of infertility and simultaneously celebrating the pregnancy announcements and births of so many of our loved ones, has been the most excruciating heartbreak we’ve ever known.

In February of this year, McKenna was diagnosed with “Significantly Diminished Ovarian Reserve,” which all of her doctors believe is something she was simply born with, due to lack of injury or disease. After meeting with several specialists in the Denver area, we were told InVitro Fertilization (IVF) would be the best possible route to conceive a child with our own genetics. Exactly one month after the diagnosis, McKenna was unexpectedly laid off due to COVID-19, alongside 50% of the company’s sales force. Since then, she has been aggressively pursuing a new position within the medical sales industry, and continues to do so.

We have had two failed rounds of IUI’s and her ovarian reserve continues to drastically decrease with each passing month. We’ve been told that if we don’t move forward with IVF/egg retrievals now, McKenna will likely not have any viable eggs left by the new year.

Due to McKenna’s “young” age and the severity of her case, all of the specialists we’ve met with have pointed us to an amazing doctor at Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine (CCRM), who specializes in treating young women suffering from Diminished Ovarian Reserve. Unfortunately, our insurance covers zero when it comes to IVF. That means we’re in a devastating predicament: either pay for infertility treatment out of pocket and try to get a few embryos while she still has eggs, or, give up the dream of having our own biological child. And we just can’t give up on that dream quite yet.

We are mortified to be asking for help, especially during a time that is so hard for so many people. But, because we are running against the clock, we don’t have time to be embarrassed and we have decided we have to do absolutely everything we possibly can for our future baby. Thus, we are humbly asking the people in our community for help.

If all goes accordingly, we will harvest as many eggs as possible over the next three months. Viable embryos will be frozen for use at a later time (ideally, when McKenna is settled into a new job and we aren’t in the middle of a pandemic).

If you can help monetarily, we will be eternally grateful. We know this is a troublesome time for many, so if you’re only able to contribute your positive thoughts and prayers, we will be unbelievably thankful for those, too. (If you would prefer to send money through Venmo, our username is @Ryan2Nash).

We are so excited to start this journey and keep you all updated in our hopeful success! We feel very blessed to have caught this when we did and have this treatment option available to us. We pray that we will share this story with our baby one day and tell them about the incredible people who rallied around us in a time of need to bring him/her into this world.

With so much love and gratitude, Ryan & McKenna
