Dear Friends and Supporters,Ella was born with a rare genetic disorder called Dentinogenesis Imperfecta or DI

This disorder leaves her teeth brittle and translucent. By the time she had been diagnosed (at 15 months old) she had multiple chips and cracks in her teeth. If not capped with stainless crowns she would have no teeth until her adult teeth come in. There is also a high probability that her adult teeth as well will have this issue.
What we have done:
At a recommendation from several dentists, we visited the University of Pennsylvania Dental School at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. After seeing Ella's condition, they gave us two options. Option one was to pull all of her teeth in order to prevent complete breakage and infection. Option two was to crown all of her teeth with stainless crowns giving them the support they need for eating. The crazy thing is both options cost about the same amount.
Two surgeries have passed and all her teeth have been crowned. The picture at the bottom of this page shows the incredible work the U of Penn dental team did for Ella.
What we have paid:
So far we have paid $10,000 for this dental work. Sadly we do not have dental insurance and will not in the foreseeable future.
What we are asking:
We are asking our friends, family and others who support the work we do to help us pay the remaining bills. We have received one bill for $4018.57 for hospital fees and we still expect to receive another bill for $2000.00 for physician fees.
In the future:
Ella will, by the time she is 18, need a full set of dental implants. As you can imagine they are quite expensive and we are saving whatever we can toward that goal.
