Help Ben's Fight With Cancer

My brother-in-law, Ben Emerson, was diagnosed with Kidney cancer this March -- a few short days after the birth of my niece, his beautiful baby girl Iris. With utmost priority and diligence, the medical staff at Ephrata Community Hospital performed surgury to remove the tumor... however, this past week, the cancer (Renal Cell Carcinoma) had spread to his lymph-nodes, which now classifies his condition as stage 4 terminal cancer. Since these cells do not respond to chemo nor radiation, he is starting an aggressive immunotherapy treatment to jump start his immune system; a process of daily oral medication that will hopefully slow the growth of the new found tumors. Alongside this approach, he is also trying the Gerson Therapy treatment -- a natural treatment that activates the body’s extraordinary ability to heal itself through an organic, vegetarian diet, raw juices, coffee enemas and natural supplements. Additionally, Ben and my sister are still considering alternative options outside of the US. My driving force behind the creation of this GoFundMe is solely out of desire to aid Ben, my sister, and their young growing family -- five children between the ages of 4 months and 12 years. Money is tight and the medical bills are daunting, especially when approaching holistic and lifestyle focused methods. But even more than that, out of my endless yearning to defeat this disease that has taken far too many of our loved ones, far too soon.
