Acting Out!'s 2013 Season

Donation protected
Acting Out! aims to make theatre accessible to everyone in Southeast Missouri, develop commerce in Jackson, and instill the importance of education in our youth. We will do this by offering a variety of shows in our regular season; building an arts academy for music, theatre, dance, and film; and offering scholarships to students as they become available.

Acting Out! launched its 2013 season in June with a production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. With much determination and hard work we put on this show with less that $1700 and saw 250 people at our one-night-only performance.

The rest of the season includes Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat set to open in September, and Night of the Living Dead, which will open at the end of October. All of the essentials have been raised through garage sales, washer tournaments, and ad space- but we are still a long way to go towards making Acting Out! a professional level theatre with the capacity to scholarship students and change lives through the power of theater.

We are raising $10,000 to complete the season. This will include paying for staff, sets, props, make up, costumes, lights, and sound. It will also put us on solid footing for next season, when we hope to make the season larger and more grand than ever before.

Please consider partnering with us in bringing professional level arts to Southeast Missouri.
