He is recovering well from surgey. Tigger has more energy and is very excited to be home however he is supposed to take it easy for the next 2 weeks that means no bouncing, Dr.'s orders!
The total cost of his surgery and medical care was 7,800. Unfortunatly we did not have any insurance for him and the costs could have been almost half had he not needed to have emergecy surgery on a Sunday.
I've been fostering Tigger for the last month, through Leash of Hope Assistance Dogs organization. He was training to become an assistance dog for a kid with autism and the progress he made has been incredible given his rough past. The x-rays shows that Tigger has 10+ pellets embedded in his skin and muscles from a pellet gun, as well as an untreated and poorly healed broken leg. The fact that he is so friendly and loves people after suffering something so cruel is absolutely incredible! Unfortunatly Tigger will no longer be an assistance dog but he will become a therapy dog and assist me in my practice as a registered massage therapist and future osteopathic manual practitioner. He is normaly such a happy, bouncy boy- hence the name Tigger. Thanks to the help of his medical team and the wonderful support from the community Tigger will live a happy life and bring joy and healing to others! Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
