Team Mathew - Post Transplant Transition
Donation protected
On May 25, 2013 Daniel, Haidee, Bruce, Brooke and Mat temporarily relocated to Seattle. Mat was scheduled to undergo a cord-blood transplant in early July and his conditioning and therapy began immediately. Thankfully, Mat's transplant went very well and he was quickly discharged to the Ronald McDonald House. While Mat's new immune system strengthens and grows, he will remain in isolation. His contact is largely limited to his immediate family and medical team.
Secondary to Mathew's health, Haidee and Daniel's main goal has been to remain together as a family in Seattle. Remaining together has proven to be a huge boost for Mat's mental and emotional well-being.
While Mat's healthcare and treatment is covered through insurance, the expense of maintaining two households is not. Daniel is nearing the end of his leave bank and has over two months left in Seattle. Mat will not be clear to return home until mid October.
Any support for my brother's family would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
