Service Dog For TJ Durbin

He is our joy, our life, our everything...our son TJ is a wonderful, happy, and adorable seven year old, and we want to do everything we can to build a special future for him. He has autism and currently cannot speak, and has not yet been able to learn some basic life skills, but is developing every day thanks to the care he receives at an autism therapy center.

Unfortunately, because we cannot communicate with him, we can't warn him about the dangers of the outside world.  He loves to run and while we try to safeguard him as best we can, we fear someday he could escape and run into danger we can't save him from.

Recently, he was able to escape from a fenced in yard and ran into traffic and was almost hit by a car.  We are so worried this could happen again that we feel we need to take action as soon as possible.

We would like to invest in a service dog to help protect him and participate in his therapy, but the cost of these animals is very high, running around $18,000, more than we can afford on our own.
