Cancer Won't Break Me
Donation protected
In April 2015, I lost my young daughter to a tragic car accident. This caused me extreme distress and sorrow. In July of the same year, I suddenly took ill and was admitted to hospital where I was told that I needed emergency surgery as they had found a massive tumor on my colon; colon cancer. This completely knocked me against the wall as I could believe that I was still dealing with the loss of my daughter and now cancer. After surgery and successful removal of the tumor, I began to feel a sense of hope and victory. Shortly after, the cancer was back, but this time, on my liver. This required a massive operation which I had at MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Texas. I followed up with chemo for a few months and the cancer is still sticking around; back on my liver and now a small mass on one of my lungs. Yet, I continue to fight and refuse to give up. As a result of all this, I haven't been able to work and I struggle on a daily basis with finances and supporting myself and my young son, Javon. I believe your generous donation will help me to stay the course and give me a sense of 'I'm not in this alone' and make me feel more empowered to continue fighting cancer without worrying about finances when it comes to my health. I will be travelling back to Texas in July for more scans and would like the option to stay longer to receive further tests that I am unable to receive at home in Cayman. Financial security is imperative in order to make this decision, therefore your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
