Please help me stand

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1994 and it has been about  15 years since I was able to stand on my own unassisted.  It's not normal to be sitting all the time!  It Is about time I get up!   This is video of me test driving a wheelchair that has a stander feature at Kessler rehab in Marlton, NJ. The voice in the video lists several benefits of standing. I would add to this list that standing reduces the risk of pressure sores a problem I have had. The benefits from standing aren't just physical, they are psychological and emotional.  Some of this might sound trivial and routine, but it is part of just feeling normal. This wheelchair would mean I'd be able to stand in front of a mirror while brushing my teeth. It would mean being able to stand in front of the kitchen sink washing some dishes. It would mean being able to reach stuff and not having to always ask for help. It would mean being eye level with others who are standing.  It would mean being able to stand at church.

The wheelchair alone costs $30,000 80% of which will be covered by my insurance, Medicare.  My share will be $6000.  The stander add-on costs $15,000 and is not covered. I hope, with your help, I am able to get it.  Using it for just a little while at the rehab center brought a smile to my face and joy to my heart.
