By now, we’ve all been affected by the novel coronavirus in some way or another.
It’s a devastating time for many.
But what we can do as a community will change the way we look back at this event.
One industry, and group of people, who are feeling the impact of the pandemic is the Arts – think musicians, comedians, artists, sound tech, event coordinators and more.
Already, this industry has lost millions of dollars and many people are out of work.
It’s a scary reality for those who depend on events to make a living, especially considering this outbreak is expected to peak in April – a month from now.
Personally, at the time of writing, I’ve had the next four weeks of work cancelled with thousand dollars of income just gone. I expect this will continue into the foreseeable future, until the pandemic ceases.
Being a sole trader, contracted work isn’t protected which means those who have lost work will be struggling to pay rent, utility bills, insurance payments and buy groceries.
But I refuse to let this stop the music.
Music brings us together. We can stop and appreciate its beauty, feel the beat, dance to the rhythm. It moves us. And I want to keep sharing it with as many people, as best I can.
As such, while we’re all in social isolation, I’d love to be able to bring you some magic, and, in return, you can help me to continue to do what I love and keep me afloat.
Below I have broken down some of the creative ways you can enjoy my music. The funds collected will be used to help me pay my rent, utilities, bills and living costs.
