Ofelia Dejesus recently arrived to the United States from the Philippines in hopes of achieving the American Dream. On September 29th, she and her family finally stepped onto US ground after 25 years of waiting for their petition to be approved. Unfortunately, on the morning of December 4, she suffered a
stroke at home. The ambulance took her to Sentara Princess Anne Hospital and from there they decided to air lift her to Virginia Beach General hospital to undergo an emergency brain surgery. Currently, she is still fighting to recover under the vigilant care of the healthcare providers of the intensive care unit. We are all praying for a full and speedy recovery. Because of the short time that they have been residing in the US, the family does not have health insurance, and the monetary cost of care will surely seem insurmountable. Our family would like to thank you for taking the time to read her story and if you are unable to donate, we would kindly appreciate your positive thoughts and prayers. God Bless.
