HI! I'm Nicole Clark, i'm a student from Cooma NSW/University of Canberra AUSTRALIA- raising money for me to go South Africa to monitor and conserve African wildlife!
I have been given a once-in-a-life- time opportunity to represent my university in 2014 to travel to the Tembe elephant Park in South Africa. The trip to South Africa will cost upwards of $5000 including airfares and accommodation on the reserve for one month. Once there, I will join in with some of the most important and awe inspiring conservation efforts in the world. Tembe elephant park in South Africa is a nature reserve designed and operated for the sole purpose of providing a refuge for some of Africa's rarest, most intelligent and loudest wildlife! As an undergraduate I've been asked as part of my degree to conduct a study on 1 of 3 endangered species located within the reserve. I've been given the choice to study either: the African wild dog, African elephant or a unique African herbivore (to be decided). Tembe Elephant Park is a 3012 ha game reserve in Maputaland, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is adjacent to Ndumo Game Reserve, the reserve was established in 1983 to protect elephants. At the park, I'll be able to learn and grow as a young conservationist/ budding environmental scientist by studying the animal life in complex detail. I'll be working with the many dedicated staff members of the reserve volunteering my undergraduate skills and knowledge in return for their skills and knowledge which I can bring back and apply both to Australia and all over the world!
