Help me finish my University degree!

Hi, thanks for clicking on my page! :) My name is Afra and I’m an International student studying an Honours degree in Pharmaceutical Science at Monash University in Australia. I’m asking for your support to help me fund my final year of study so that I can graduate and get one step closer to my dream of pursuing research in the realm of pharmaceutical sciences.

As an International student, I am required to pay upfront each semester. This means that I need to come up with $22.5K (AUD) by the end of March to avoid being kicked out of my degree. While I was lucky to have some support from my parents back in China in my first years of study, they can no longer afford it so I have to come up with this money on my own.

Without your help, I’ll have to drop out of my Honours degree, which would leave me without any hope of finding work in pharmaceutical research. As a matter of fact, an Honours degree is the bare minimum I’d need to get my foot in the door for these positions. I’m incredibly passionate about pharmaceutical research and it would mean the world to me to have that door even slightly ajar, and to have the opportunity to start making a difference in the field of pharmaceuticals, like medicines we take when sick or skin care products we use daily.

I am really loving my Honours study so far - I’m currently looking at ways to synthesise chemical structures that are key in medicines, which allow us to access quicker, easier and more efficient ways to make medicines for many diseases including cancer and viral infections. I know that I’m so lucky to have the opportunity to study in Australia, and to do Honours research with an amazing team at such an incredible institution. I would be so grateful to be able to continue to pursue it and to see where this research can take me in the future.

I am so thankful for any contribution towards my tuition. I can’t do this on my own and any amount of support, no matter how small, means so much to me, getting me one step closer to my dream of being able to graduate from my Honours degree.
